André-Jacques Auberton-Hervé nominated Chairman of ITEN’s Board of Directors

Dardilly, October 08, 2024 • ITEN’s Board announces the nomination of Mr. André-Jacques Auberton-Hervé as Chairman of the Board of Directors for a three-year term. André-Jacques Auberton-Hervé’s experience as founder and CEO of Soitec, and his deep knowledge of the semiconductor industry, will be key assets as ITEN enters a decisive phase of industrialization and market conquest.

A graduate of the École Centrale de Lyon with a PhD in semiconductor physics, André-Jacques Auberton-Hervé began his professional career at the laboratory of the French Atomic Energy Commission (Leti).

In 1992, he co-founded Soitec, which he led for 23 years. Specializing in the production of silicon-on-insulator (SOI), Soitec quickly established itself as a  key player in the semiconductor industry, becoming the world leader in its sector.

Member of the Board of SEMI International - Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International - for twelve years, André-Jacques Auberton-Hervé was elected Vice- President in 2011 and 2014, before becoming Chairman. To date, he is still the only French person to have chaired this global institution which brings together European, Asian and American semiconductor players.

In 2015, he founded his own consulting company, 4A Consulting & Engineering, specializing in innovation management and the management of complex projects in the renewable energies sector.

André-Jacques Auberton-Hervé was awarded the « Prix de l’Audace Créatrice » by the French President Jacques Chirac, the INSEAD Prize and the SEMI Award, and is a Knight of the Legion of Honor and the Order of Merit.

« I am deeply honored by the confidence placed in me by the members of the Board of Directors and ITEN shareholders. Up to now, ITEN has developed a unique technology for which it also masters development, industrialization and manufacturing. The challenge now is to match technological innovation with markets, so that ITEN’s «all-solid state» micro-batteries can become the sustainable, reliable and globally recognized source of energy for IoT devices and other connected objects. My mission during this pivotal moment is to challenge and support ITEN’s scale-up strategy, and working alongside Vincent Cobée, the company’s CEO, and his team to align the company’s roadmap with that of its clients », said André-Jacques Auberton-Hervé, Chairman of the Board of ITEN.

About ITEN: ITEN is a French industrial gem, leader in the development and production of “solid state“ micro-batteries with unrivalled power density. It is one of the few global players with the capacity for industrial production of this technology, mastering the entire design and production chain. These revolutionary batteries meet the power and miniaturization needs of electronic systems used in connected objects, autonomous sensors and wearables. At the heart of the DeepTech ecosystem, ITEN holds over 200.patents. Based in Dardilly, near Lyon, it is a two-time winner of the global innovation competition (2015 and 2017) and the French Tech 120 winner in 2023. It has just won the CES 2024 Best of Innovation Awards in Las Vegas for its 250 μA.h micro-battery (the second French company to be honored since CES was founded in 1967). ITEN has raised 80 million euros by the end of 2022 from BPI, Groupe SEB, Innovacom, EREN Group and Habert Dassault Finance. www.iten.com
